Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Center for AI Behavioral Standards ("CAIBS") website, platform, tools, and services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services. CAIBS is a program of the Disabled Veterans Whole Health Association ("DVWHA"), a 501(c)(4) membership association, operated by Weerussh LLC.

2. Description of Services

CAIBS provides AI behavioral standards development, certification services, rating tools, educational resources, and related services. The Services include but are not limited to: (a) the B.I.T. Framework™ for evaluating AI systems; (b) AI tool rating and certification through the CAIBS certification tier system (CAIBS-1 through CAIBS-5); (c) the CAIBS Certified Directory; (d) membership programs; (e) educational resources and publications; and (f) merchandise sales.

3. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, materials, trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, and intellectual property displayed on or through the Services are the property of CAIBS, DVWHA, Weerussh LLC, or their licensors. This includes but is not limited to:

• CAIBS™ — Center for AI Behavioral Standards
• B.I.T. Framework™ — Behavioral Impact & Trust Framework
• CAIBS-5 Exemplary™ — Premium certification designation
• All certification marks, badges, shields, and visual identifiers
• The CAIBS rating methodology and scoring algorithms

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Services without prior written consent, except as permitted by these Terms.

4. Certification & Rating Services

CAIBS certification ratings are based on the B.I.T. Framework™ and represent an independent evaluation of AI systems' behavioral impact. Certification does not constitute:

• Legal or regulatory approval or compliance verification
• A guarantee of AI system performance, safety, or reliability
• An endorsement of the certified entity's products or services
• A substitute for legal, technical, or professional advice

Certification badges and marks are licensed, not sold. Certified entities must maintain compliance with CAIBS standards to retain their certification. CAIBS reserves the right to revoke certification at any time if standards are not maintained.

5. Use of Certification Marks

Entities that purchase and receive CAIBS certification badges are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to display the certification mark for the duration of their active certification period (12 months from issuance). Unauthorized use, reproduction, or display of CAIBS certification marks is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

6. User Accounts & Submissions

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. By submitting an AI tool for rating, you represent that you have the authority to submit the tool and that all information provided is accurate and complete. CAIBS reserves the right to reject, modify, or remove any submission at its sole discretion.

7. Payments & Refunds

Certification fees, membership dues, merchandise purchases, and donations are processed through our platform. All fees are quoted in US Dollars. Certification fees are non-refundable once the evaluation process has begun. Merchandise returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unused items in original packaging.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAIBS, DVWHA, WEERUSSH LLC, AND THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which Weerussh LLC is organized, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration.

10. Changes to Terms

CAIBS reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
